Privacy Policy
Ahumm
Last updated: September 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ahumm ("we", "us", or "our") collects and uses information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
Ahumm turns a description of the life you want into short personal audio stories with paintings. It is a reflective practice, not medical, psychological, or financial advice.
1. Information You Provide
To write your stories, the App asks for:
- A first name or nickname, and how the stories should refer to you
- The names of people you choose to include, their relation to you, and a line about them
- Your description of the life you want, and your answers to a few follow-up questions
- Your preferred narrator, your waking hour, and the hour you want new stories to arrive
- Words, lines, and paintings you pin to your board
This information is stored on our servers under an anonymous account identifier so your worlds can be rebuilt on a new device. We do not ask for an email address, a phone number, or a password. A recovery phrase, shown once, links a new device to your account.
Voice input
When you choose to speak an answer instead of typing it, your speech is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition, on your device where your language allows it and otherwise by Apple's servers, under Apple's own privacy terms. We receive only the text you approve. We never receive the recording. The microphone is used only while you hold the dictation button.
2. How Your Stories Are Made
Your stories, paintings, narration, and world music are generated by third-party AI services from the information above. To do this we send the relevant text (never your name as an account, only what you typed) to:
- Anthropic — writes the story text
- Google (Gemini) — paints the images
- ElevenLabs — records the narration and the world's music
- fal.ai — processes images (for example, removing a background)
- OpenAI — helps write the questions the walk asks you, from your answers
These services process the text to produce your content. We do not permit them to use your content to train their models where their terms allow us to opt out, and we send the minimum needed for each request.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Usage and diagnostic data
We collect anonymous product analytics through PostHog to understand how the App is used: screens viewed, features used, device type, operating system version, and App version. These events are tied to your anonymous account identifier, not to your name or your stories' content.
Subscriptions and purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple. RevenueCat receives your anonymous account identifier and purchase receipts to manage your subscription and your instant-opening credits. We never see or store payment card details.
Push notifications
If you allow notifications, the App stores a device push token so we can tell you when a new story is ready. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
4. App Tracking Transparency and Advertising
On iOS, the App asks once whether it may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, the Meta (Facebook) SDK may use your device's advertising identifier to measure which ads brought you to Ahumm and how our advertising performs. If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared; install measurement then uses Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork only. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
The App shows no third-party advertising.
5. How We Use Information
- Write, paint, and narrate your personal stories and worlds
- Deliver a new story on your schedule and notify you when it is ready
- Manage your subscription and credits
- Improve the App and understand aggregate usage
- Answer you when you contact support
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use the content of your stories for advertising.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your account, stories, paintings, and board are kept while your account exists. You can delete everything from inside the App in Settings; this removes your account and its content from our servers. You can also email us and we will delete it. Anonymous analytics is retained by our providers under their own policies. Generated media is stored on our content delivery network under unguessable addresses and is removed when you delete your account.
7. Children's Privacy
Ahumm is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the deletion option in the App or contact us at the address below. We answer within 30 days.
9. International Transfers
Our servers and the providers named above operate in the United States and the European Union. By using the App you agree to the transfer of your information to these locations, where the protections may differ from those in your country.
10. Security
Data travels over encrypted connections and is stored with access limited to the systems that need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
11. Not Advice
Ahumm's stories describe a future you chose to imagine. They are not predictions, guarantees, or advice of any kind. Consult a qualified professional for decisions about your health, finances, or relationships.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be shown in the App or on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
